I have not hunted them yet but spend a lot of time chasing them out of the yard. I understand that smoked wild turkey is pretty good.

wild turkey is a wild contrast.

the breast meat is delicious!! i have stir fried it..yum. i have breaded it and fried it like a chicken finger..yumx2!!

the rest of the bird is just about inedible. tough, very tough. i usually do a quick skin job and cook it down for a stock. but i pull both sides of the breast out for regular cooking.

i almost t-boned a turkey yesterday with my mountain bike..

Probably going out in the morning. The county just opened up some land really close to my house (walking distance) where a bunch of this years poults have been hanging out every morning. Pretty sure we're having wild turkey for thanksgiving. :)

Also, my wife just finished Hunter Safety last weekend and turkey is the only thing she's really comfortable hunting so far. So hopefully I'll get her on a turkey this year!

Nice job HQ!

Saw a ton of turkeys while whitetail hunting. Almost made me want to head back there in the spring.
