How do you sharpen your knife

Postby >>>---WW----> » 07 15, 2019 •  [Post 1]

I have always preferred a Skandi grind on my knife for ease of sharpening. That's just me! But I'm curious how the rest of you guys sharpen your blades ? Do you hand sharpen, or use something like a Lansky, Gatco, KME, or some other type of sharpening system ?

I go with a Lansky for the most part. I may touch one up a little by hand, but it is just a quickie. I also have some of the pull through sharpeners I use mostly on cheap blades.

Generally too fast :o

I have a LOBO table top ,.. I dont think they make it anymore.
I also inherited my dads whet stones and strop.

For my low quality knives I use a diamond, carbide or a steel
I do have a buck oil stone from the 70's that gets some use too

As a kid we sharpened our "deer knives twice a year,.. even if they didnt get used. Our dad would set us down at the dinning room table when mom wasnt around :o and we would spend hours sharpening all the hunting knifees,.. some good memories

Lansky for me. I can’t hold a decent angle to save my life. From dull to razor sharp in 15 minutes.
