Oh man do I have you covered there! I've owned them all. Montana Canvas, Colorado Tent, Davis Tent, Big Sky Tent, Kwik Camp etc etc.

A few years back I hit paydirt. Everything you could ask for in quality AND the cheapest AND free shipping. The guy is out of Idaho so I actually drove to his house to pick up a couple tents the year before last. He's a 1 man business & mainly sells online. His woodstoves though uh.... suck bad. lol

Here's the link: http://www.walltentshop.com/Catwalltents.html

Click on Wilderness Tent... On Special. They come with the angle kit to make a frame which runs about $160 elsewhere. Buy the extra angles to make a 4 rafter frame. Anything bigger than 10 long should have 2 rafters between the ends. The tents are reinforced everywhere it's needed. The entire ridge is double canvas as well as all of the corners. Sod cloth all around the bottom, stove jack with cover and snap buckels to hold it open. Nice heavy zipper and snap buckles to hold the door open. And... if you mention the "special discount" ha ha... always active... you can add a screened zippered window in the back for free. Great for archery season or to let the heat out when cooking inside.

You will not top that deal and I can vouche for the quality of the tent. I just bought another one a month or so ago that I haven't yet cut the poles for. If you buy one from him give us some feedback on what you think about it.

Maybe I need to sign that guy up as an ElkNut forum sponsor......

Ken's Custom Tent and Canvas in Homedale Idaho.

He can build anything you need. We've gotten a lot of stuff from him over the years, duffel bags, fourwheeler rack bags, bedrolls, backpacks, covers (boat, trailer, tractor), tents, teepees, heavy game bags, and he even stitched up our trampoline when I was a kid. We lived on the same country block as him. Everything was top quality and fair priced.

I have a 12 x 17 Montana Canvas tent for over 20 years and it has done journeyman duty every year in all conditions.

Indian Summer Thanks for sharing!

How did the Wall Tent Shop tents compare to each of the Montana Canvas, Colorado Tent, Davis Tent, Big Sky Tents?

Believe it or not... nicer. Canvas is top quality. Reinforced in more places too. I like the snap buckles that hold the door flaps open... and also closed when you're not in camp. All the features that are optional and cost more on the other brands come standard with his wilderness tents including a rear screened window and the angle kit for the frame.

I'll never buy another brand. Like I mentioned though... his wood stoves I'll pass on. Don't worry about the "special" expiring. It's always on special... he'll change the deadline at the end of every month. ;-)

Indian Summer - thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience!

My wife and I are starting to look at these for our property that we have out west. We would use it to camp out of as a family, I could base hunt out of it with my youngest son.

Have a GREAT holiday!
