a cot is a game changer. something about NOT having to drag your achey body up off the floor...........

Very nice.. The Kodiak tents are great. What are your plans for a cooking area? As an option, you may wish to consider an inexpensive screened gazebo set up a bit away from your canvas tent. We've used this method quite a few times while wall tenting. It keeps the cooking chow smell a bit away from your sleeping quarters, and, the screen is nice to keep at least some of the bugs and camp robbers (grey jays) out of your stuff.

Not sure if you've got this stuff already, or, have it on your list to get but here's a few of the my staples for walltenting ;)

a. Four legged stove w/two burners. Small propane hibachi for grilling.
b. Propane tank with splitter for stove and lantern post.
c. 5-foot folding table for cookshack.

To name just a few items.

Maybe a new thread Lefty? "What is your basic load for base camp/wall tent hunting" would probably get some great recommendations.. RJ

great ideas guys. im gonna have a propane tank for grill light etc. got the table. although last year by the time i dragged my butt to camp i ate whatever was quick and went to bed. the cot is gonna be nice, i cant wait. im plannin on getting a basecamp somewhere i can walk out of the tent and hunt, then take my backpacking stuff if i need to go out for a day or two.

Now is the time to test your gear, pack it all in your pack and see if you can get the items back in their stuffsacks! This can prove to be challenging at times!
But, better at home than on the mountain.
