Alarm Clock

Postby Rojix » 05 01, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Anyone have any suggestions for a good, lightweight alarm clock? Watches never seem to wake me. Thanks

I use the one on my GPS. It is loud enough to wake me up and I sleep pretty heavy.

Agree that the wrist alarms aren't that loud and have slept through them. Not sure if my old school Lowrance GPS has an alarm but it eats batteries so.... I'll use Dotman and his Garmin for my alarm this year :D

I have a small cheap alarm clock from Wal mart that I got several years ago that operates for a couple years on a AA battery. It is very loud and none of us has ever slept through it.

I use my Rino 655t. You set the alarm and then turn it off and it comes back on when the alarm goes off :D

sounds simple, but this is a big problem for me too. I searched hi lo on the web for one and purchased it because it was advertised as very loud alarm. crap....I can sleep through it too!

Over the years, I have ended up with 3 compact, single AA battery alarms that work great. Got to have back ups. They are a little smaller than a cigarret pack. They have snooze, lighted screen when you press the little bar on top. They start out with a low, quick beep and then get louder the longer you do not shut it off. If you sleep thru it, your totally deaf! Bought all of them at WalMart over the last 15 years for around $9.00 each. My buddy from Texas has a old style wind up that sounds like a school recess bell when it go's off and the loud ticking takes a while to get used to.

I use a cheap Wal-mart battery clock as well. I also make sure to hydrate very well well before I go to bed. That way I'm catching up on hydration and there is no way I'm sleepin in!

Yes. I have a Garming (Montana 650T) and when you set the alarm it asks if you want to now turn the device off. My hearing is terrible and it's definitley loud enough to wake me every time.

Those little cheapies that work on 2 double As have been known to "sleep in" if it gets really cold in the tent during gun season. I used a Little Ben wind up instead of those before I got the Garmin. Those will wake the dead... as long as you remember to wind it.

http://www.adcohearing.com/product2577.html Adhoc is located in the Denver area.

I have the older model travel alarm that has a smaller light flashing feature. It weighs 5.5 oz with the 3 alkaline batteries (1 AAA, 2 AA).

I need either a flashing light, super strong vibrating alarm or hearing/service dog (jumps on you or paws at you) to wake me up. My service dog passed away, so I went back to the flashing light at home and super strong vibrating travel alarm while hunting/camping/traveling.

It also has a very loud sounding alarm, however, I skip using the sound feature to avoid waking others.

Dang it, I just became a Spike. I wanted to stay a calf and not grow up. Can I go back to being a calf?
