this weeks saftey tip!!

Postby JJ Overkill » 06 02, 2013 •  [Post 1]

I was test my broad head flight this afternoon. I was shooting very well with my bhs @ 50yds. after every shot I visually inspected my arrows and flex tested them. after a round of shooting I say what looked like an arrow had been cut by a head. this happened during the flex test. I sure everyone test there arrows periodically but I thought I would just through this up on here. a person could have easily pulled this arrow and shot it again. I barely flexed this arrow when it snapped. im almost positive it would have snapped upon release. food for thought

I never flex check my arrows either. Were you shooting at the same bullseye with broadheads? I've learnt to use different bulls when shooting broadheads to save on having to reflecht or damage arrows. Or if I'm checking to see how my broadhead and field point consistency is, I will always shoot the broadhead first.

Jerinmn, just inform these guys that you shoot a stick bow, so it does not matter about aiming at a specific point, since stick bow shooters never hit where they intend anyways. :P Well at least that is what happens when I pick up a recurve these days.

Ha!
My re-fletching time goes WAY down when I shoot my recurve too... :)

Cnelk: I am sure you can get er done with a stick bow, but that is funny. Of coarse I have no idea what Jerinmn actually shoots. I do the same thing that Aron advises when checking out my broad heads.

honestly guys I was shooting two heads with two field points a 50yds. I was shooting at the same spot. Im really wasn't sure id group that tight since I just tuned my bow with these heads, there was a reason I was flex testing my arrows. just because of how I was shooting in this sequence. I know it cost me a little money but im dead confident in my setup and shooting. for now :D
