M1950 military tent and stove

Postby Navesgane » 05 30, 2017 •  [Post 1]

I just acquired this awesome setup and wanting to know if anyone has any experience with it. I've found just a little bit of info on the web about it. The previous owner talked highly of it. I'll need a mule to carry it if I go too far from the truck as the whole setup seems to be close to 100#.

I have that tent and will be taking it to camp in this year when scouting. It is a good tent. I don't have the stove, and mine does not have the liner. Does yours have the liner? I got the tent almost new for very little at a yard sale. I could not believe the condition of the tent and the price, as I was standing there looking at it. All of a sudden the lady that had the sale came over and asked if I was interested in the tent. She said if I would take it she would throw in a good smaller tent. Deal. Maybe I should have held out for a stove. :D

Does this look familiar? Great little stoves; they're a real workhorse.

When I was a small kid, dad bought one of these tents at a surplus store. He still had it when I was in the Navy. It had the liner, but no stove. I have never seen the stove in real life.

That's it Wapititalk! Yes it's complete with stove, liner and stove pipe kit. Can't wait to set it up and try it. Problem is, I mainly backpack archery hunt. I may just have to put in for some late season tags next year and rent a mule!
