Heading out on your elk hunt? Don't forget...........

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 09 06, 2017 •  [Post 1]

Oh ya, we always seem to forget something. Nobody likes to make a trip back to the evil, closest town to grab one of these, more of these, etc. (who likes to leave the elk woods once the season has started and we're on our precious days of elk hunting clock). What have you forgotten to pack in past hunts that taught you a lesson to never, ever, forget it again :? .

Ill admit it!!
Friday I forgot a box of gear. While loading I thought I should take another cooler of ice, Then never loaded the last little locker. spotting scope, and odds and ends towels, scent free sprays, medications/ toiletries, duct tape, rope . The Montana Decoy, Elknuts Playbook and my boots were the only thing we could have used

Scouting mudflow last year I forgot my pillow. Rolled up clothes for that trip. Bought a small camp pillow, so had one in my gear and not forget. Too small as it turned out, even doubled over had a sore neck the 1st night. So stuffed clothes inside a Boone hat I had and made do.

RJ - don't forget your ear plugs!

if you're bow hunting, an extra release, and material to make another loop if required.

one is none, two is one....
Yes, I am addicted to elk. No, I don't need help, I just need a tag.

Second on the hunting license/tag. I didn't forget it, but my dad did. Had to go to the nearest NDOW office and have a reprint made. Cost him $5 and half a day of hunting.
