It's been a busy time here with hunting and my cabinetry business and I haven't had time to address my knives in a while. Hunting always has to come first, right? I finally took the time to put together a few. I always have a busy knife season around the holidays so wanted to offer these here on the forum to members first. I'll take $20 off any knife here until the 17th then I have to take any remaining to a local store so they have some for the holidays. PM me if you have any interest. The prices without the discount range from $190 to $245.

Very cool. Seriously one of the best hunting knives I've ever owned. Thanks for the sale Norm!

I sent Norm a note to see if he'd post up some current pics of his available inventory.

I sent a photo to Rory to post up here which I’m sure he will shortly. Not much of a supply here at the moment it’s generally a pretty slow time for knives. If you don’t like any of these pm me what you are looking for and I’ll see what I can do. Steel is generally always forged 52100 high carbon. Damascus blades are a mix of 1095 and 52100. All hold an edge well and are easy to get and keep an edge on.

I guess my plan just changed, I was getting ready to get a benchmade altitude when I got home, an elk track looks like a better option!

I will be in touch in a few days! Awesome!

Norm’s knives are awesome... I bought two last year as gifts and both ended up bloodied... I used my sons elk guide to totally break down his late season bull and never had to touch the edge until after I was done. Perfect size blade for the task. I even used it for most of the caping chores as well... only had to whip out the havalon for the eyes and tear ducts. I’d say that knive is one of the best working blades I’ve ever used...

I'm pretty excited for mine to show up! Thanks guys for the timely reminder of Norm's knives, I was literally going to buy a new benchmade when I got home, I am a knife short, I'm way happier with a beautiful custom knife. Hope to break it in on a lion before spring bear season ;)

badaddy that one is a small chef's knife I made a limited run of. Only made 12 of them and just have the one left.
Might have to make some more of them as everyone who bought one ended buying at least one more for gifts.

Yes sir, it's going to fill the niche perfect, I have never liked big blades, and I have a 3" heavy skinner my buddy made me, also a beautiful blade, it was his second knife he built from scratch, I needed one more that had more finesse, and this knife will be perfect.

May have to buy another soon as well, really like the shape of the elk guide, as well as the Damascus!

I would really like to get away from using my havalon, I think I will now be able to.

Norm, I have been reading a bit on "forced patina" what are your thoughts on this? Good idea, or just use and care for it until it forms on it's own?

If you do think it's wise, what would be the best way to do that with your knives?

I've played around with a forced patina with mustard and also with vinegar and had very mixed results. The vinegar works but the steel I use takes on a beautiful patina after the first blood so why bother?

My schedule is very unpredictable, but if you want a partner, i have calls, will travel. Nobody i know seems to be motivated to hunt lions. Im always game. Dont even care if i shoot one myself. I just like calling predators. Hit me up if you want, either ill have the free time or i wont.

would love to, i hunt them a bunch. looks like i'm outta the game for a bit though, got home tonight from 2 weeks of diving, thinking i was gonna have a couple days, now it looks like i'm heading out in the AM to finish out the crab season on a friends boat. i kinda try to avoid that fishery, because it consumes your life until it's over....may have to buy a couple more knives for myself in a couple months when the smoke clears....

i got my knife.....wow!

i knew it was pretty, but it's better in person, feel and balance, pretty freakin' awesome.

Norm, do you only make the one style in Damascus, or could you make any of your blade configurations with it? i'm going to need one of those pretty soon :P

i thought the compact hunter would be a tad small, but that knife configuration is absolutely perfect for me, i'm pretty dang happy.

Glad you like the Compact Hunter.
I can do any of my blades in damascus, it just takes some time to get it done.

thanks for the response Norm, I like the compact hunter enough I will be ordering another from you soon in Damascus ;) just need to look back through your knife threads and get an idea on a handle. good situation for me, because I already have one now so the wait time doesn't matter.... and I don't really need one, just "want" one :D

cannot beat your knives, I couldn't imagine a better hunting knife. beautiful piece of art, with all of the practicality of what it's designed to do.
