Trailcam SD card

Postby Lefty » 05 17, 2018 •  [Post 1]

Evidently when I pulled my SD card last week the card stayed in my pants pocket. I discovered it in the dryer this morning.
I had 400 pics on the card and wanted to see the elk better than viewing from my phone.
Right now it is over the floor HVAC vent ( just the fan is on)
Any hope of it working?
Do I need to do something else before putting the SD card in my computer?

Dry it off and use it, heating it may cause problems. SD cards are sealed and have no moving parts so there is nothing that can fail unless the card is cracked or has been wiped by a strong magnetic field.

Ya, sounds like it died if it's asking for fixing or re-formatting. Bad news.....

If you can't pull up any of the pictures the card may still be usable if you reformat it. If it won't reformat then the card is dead. I've washed my SD cards and flash drives a couple of times and never had any problems with loosing data or using them after I made sure that they were dry.
