Water

Postby Fridaythe13th » 08 21, 2018 •  [Post 1]

I just love cold water right from the mountain stream. But it warms up to fast.
Has anybody tried to put ice cubes in there hydro blader for a day hunt? Does it make a mess in your backpack from the condensation. I have the Tenzing 2220

Never tried the ice thing but I don't see why it wouldn't work (unless smaller ice pieces would clog the tube at the bottom of the unit). Ya, with the water bladder placement in "most" hunting packs (laying against your back), the water will warm up eventually while on a hunt/hike even on chilly days which is a bummer drag. If a hunter can perhaps come up with a lightweight something or other piece of material (perhaps a piece of one of those inexpensive reflective space blankets) to emplace between the bladder and the pack/your back, that may help with keeping the water cooler? Not sure but if you try it out, let us know :D

Lifestraw. Fantastic filter. Cold water direct to you. Ice cubes? How long do you stay out? You'd get what, 2 hours maybe? Freeze a 32oz nalgene bottle of water. Wrap it in a shirt. 5hrs or more I would guess.
