Hey all!

Postby Tom Grates » 11 06, 2018 •  [Post 1]

Figured I would give a quick introduction since you will probably be seeing me ask questions and comment on things!
I had the privilege to hunt with a very good elk hunter this year, being from PA, elk hunting is not a big thing here. This guy showed me the ropes, prepared me for things that I did not know, and really got the "Elk Bug" inserted deep into my brain.
My whole life I have been taking people hunting, guiding kids and first timers FOC for Eastern Turkeys, taking sick kids hunting, and to have this favor returned to me is simply mind blowing.
That person belongs to this page, and has turned me on to it.
I am a very avid turkey hunter, archery hunter and whitetail hunter. I enjoy fishing saltwater, trout fishing PA, and pier fishing.
I do most of my hunting and most of time being spent at my cabin in the Allegheny National Forest.
ME and a buddy have or own butcher shop, even though it is for our private use, it is nicer than most for hire butchers. We make a bunch of different bolognas, sticks, jerkey, breakfast sausage, hot sausage, etc.
I look forward to discussions, and hopefully learning from all of your knowledge.

Welcome to the WT forum Tom, glad to have you on board. I apologize for one of our members giving you the "elk bug"; it is a condition that will persist for a lifetime and there is no known cure :D

It is too late to warn you if Joe has given you elk fever. As RJ said there is no known cure. Anyway, welcome to the forum. You can ask all of the questions you like. If you are lucky you will get a good answer. :D

Swede yes... Tom has contracted the disease from me. I don’t feel one bit guilty either. His first mountain adventure went well and I beleive he’s cut out for it. We’re a pretty good match too which anyone on this site knows is a really big deal. We have guaranteed bull tags the next two years so we're going to put his proccessing facility to good use.

Welcome aboard the crazy train Tom!
