Lost a great friend

Postby Lefty » 08 18, 2019 •  [Post 1]

My dog was old. Bought her a car last year so she could get in and out on her own. The last few month she really slowed down.
Friday morning we were getting ready to go on an ATV trip. Holly followed me around and watched like she does most days.
She walked towards the horse trough wanting water. I slid the tub out and filled it with water. Holly was drinking while I walked to the back of the barn, a short time later I saw she was on the ground lying on her left side,... I sat her up: petted he a few times. Then we took her to a buddies vets office.
We had her since December 03. A fantastic family pet. A great companion always. Running with my daughters while working the horses . Lots of long ATV rides a couple thousnnd duck and goose retrieves. She could spend hours swimming with my kids

Were gonna miss her

Also a great truck dog

My heart goes out to you and your family Dennis. The pups are part of our family and I know Holly had a great life with yours. If there is a place in heaven for our four legged friends, I’m positive your old friend is chasing some rabbits, retrieving some fat wet mallards, sitting in a goose blind quivering as a flock of northerns come sailing in to dec’s and calls, and thinking about the grand times she had with your family. God bless you for giving Holly a great life during her time. RIP Holly.

Sorry for your loss Lefty. I understand how you must feel. I had to put my horse down this past spring. She coliced and got all twisted up inside. Hardest thing I have had do in a long time.

There is no truer love than that which is given by a dog to it's master.

So sorry. Glad you knew when the right time was and took care of her. No harder thing on earth to do.

So very sorry for your loss. Losing a K9 friend is a different kind of pain. They give so much and ask for very little, a pat on the head, throw a stick. Enjoy every minute you have with them.

I think me and my wife and daughters received more from her and she from us by-far then most family-dog relationships
