Winning bid at RMEF

Postby Lefty » 02 29, 2020 •  [Post 1]

My daughter and I attended our local RMEF banquet.
Right into entry , the first auction item was , well interesting
The auctioneer started at $100, we ended up winning at $200, and tossed in another $75

Maybe a more strange fact, just yesterday we we discuss her bathroom remodel and this was exactly what she was planned for her remodel for a heated 5 foot, jetted tub.

Whatever you bought, its all good. Thanks for supporting RMEF, if it weren't for them we'd have much less habitat, elk and access.

Financially there isnt much we normally can do. But in this case my daughter wanted that exact tub size and type.

So many outdoorsman do not realize how much like minded conservation organization get done.
NWTF
DU
Pheasants Forever
Quail Forever
Delta Waterfowl
Mule Deer Foundation

I hear so many bash and complain about the organizations. but in many cases it is the only way state agencies often get things done

The bathtub at an RMEF banquet is to remind hunters of the need to be clean and minimize their odor. Those RMEF folks are smart. Very smart. Thanks to you and your daughter for wanting to keep the woods and fields clean. :D

I agree. Cleanliness is important while hunting. As soon as i need a putty knife to peel my scrotum off of my thigh i head home to shower and wash my clothes.

I do not know about you Whitey. You may want to look at a new standard of cleanliness if you do not want to remain a bachelor. I do not know if you do or not, so it is just a suggestion. There is more in this world than deer from a tree stand.

Yeah, i know. Lots of bears to hunt too. Hiking around bear hunting in august when its pushin 100 degrees out, thats when the putty knife really becomes necessary after a few days.

Just had our Pheasants Forever banquet on Saturday. I went the Silent Auction route. At the end of the day, I had a little train following me home. Right behind me waddled a pair of Vortex Viper binocs and then there was a set of twins behind the Vipers. 2 Vortex Ranger rangefinders followed those Vipers like a pair of young ducklings! Outfitting 3 kids gets expensive!

I have noticed young Bachelors can be very shrewd at dodging the issue. That is alright as some young lady will likely get him straightened out on his personal hygiene issues. It is likely he will be sent back to remedial training on some other matters also.
The good women are like one I read about some time back:
A young husband said to his new wife, "can't you just accept me as I am?" Her reply came right to the crux of the matter. "Just because I accept you as you are, does not mean I have abandoned all hope for your improvement." On the other hand, maybe I did not read that lady's line, but heard it 50+ years ago. I forget. Anyway, I too am still in training. The good wife never gives up on a student, and when the kids are all raised she goes back and picks up where she left off, schooling her now not so young husband. What is so sad is that she has to start all over. The husband has forgotten much of what he was taught.
