CV 19 Hunting Season Closures

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 04 02, 2020 •  [Post 1]

I know WA closed a portion of the state for spring bear (and turkey I believe). Just saw that AK closed their bear season also. Please post any other state closures you hear of.

I think Alaska just re-opened spring bear for residents. Nonresidents are still out of luck, but at least the residents can hunt.

How our lives would be different in Idaho if non resident hunting isnt allowed.

The worst part would be lack of money for IDFG and the tourism dollars

Turkey hunting is closed on all State sites in Illinois. All the parks are closed to aid in “social distancing”. No word on refunds, which only adds to the frustration. Thankfully, I hunt private.

Everything is still going as planned here in Colorado so far as I know. But if this stuff doesn't subside soon, I hope they shut the seasons down. So far, we have good control of the virus here. But we live in one of the most popular elk areas in the state and we sure don't want anyone bringing the virus in. Everyone needs to stay at home as much as possible!

You are right WW. If we all stay quarantined for a month or so, we should get through this by September. If people decide to go on as usual we can expect the virus to claim more and more lives, and continue to damage the nation' economy.

Idaho “NON RES” license sales suspended. Looks like if you bought before 4 APR, you can still hunt/fish, etc. Doesn’t appear to apply to fall elk and deer (thanks goodness).
