That is pretty cool Whitey. You have more variety there than most of us have. We have Blacktail and a few whitetail, and if I go out far enough I could find a Roosevelt elk shed too. It is interesting that your Whitetails seems to be bigger than your Mulies.

BTW: I am quarantined now. Nobody cares if I hunt sheds, but I have chosen to stay home.

Its not that our whitetails are bigger than our mulies, its just that our mule deer population has declined so horribly that its rare to find a mature muley buck. Whitetail and moose are doing terrible too, but the muleys seem to have had the most drastic decline. Elk seem to be maybe stable with the exception of a few areas hit particularly hard by wolves. Either way, i feel fortunate to live somewhere with such a variety of wildlife. Ive had some trail camera soaks that had whitetail, mule deer, elk, moose, black bear, cougar, wolf, bobcat and coyote all on the same camera. Pretty cool

The whitetail shed is a year old, a match to one i found last april. It was laying maybe 30 yards from where i found the first one. And they were right in a clump if trees where i saw this buck on dec 30th 2018, i was doing some predator calling and he stood up out of the trees and looked my way. I backed out, and sometime shortly therafter he was bedded there again and flopped his antlers.

My wife and I spent two days ATVing the desert, and sorta looking for sheds. Nothing
Friday I headed for a day out,.. tried to haul in bear baits. Drove some fine roads in wither range. Saw hundreds of migrating antelop
Wow :o :o :o I saw Idaho Nevada , Utah, Wyoming and Montana plates Guys on foot, ATV's. Snow-machines and tracked UTVs. Stupid crazy. I spoke with Utahans Idahoans and Montanans
Miles and miles from ranches
Spoke to a couple guys the one found a match, 340 , He was happy

A few years back My wife suggested we make a yearly winter trip to Neveda to shed hunt, for kicks, outdoor fun , ride and pay for the trip.
We ran into some professional shed hunters They had been there a week, had a full wall tent of matched big stuff. then hid the the rest under a big piece of tarp. The next year Nevada made a shed season. Im sure it made those fellows shed poachers, and we haven't made a tri back :(

I used to spend a lot of time in Nevada too. Haven't been once since they put the season on :( . Unfortunately all the season does is keep the honest people out. I know some guys that went last year on "opening day" they said it was a great day, not a soul around, and no horns either, just tracks all over from a few weeks before the opener.

And as for the wall tent guys, if they are the same wall tent guys I know don't let them fool you, there is a good chance they didn't have near as many pounds as they thought they did ;)

The picture I posted here is actually the first time I've ever shared a shed picture with anyone, and you can see all the detail in the background 8-) . I just never share to much because they can be worth lots of $$$

Im not going to ask, and Im not going to tell, but likely the same area. I think the only place similar would be the Elk Refuge near Jackson

That was what I expected. Utah's first year We saw the same thing coming. a few guys get busted,.. made the rest even sneakier, Or found them on private ground. :?

I believe if an area is open for anything , all legal activities should continue. Or closed for everything.
Where we were in Nevada the only human activity shut down was shed hunting. We could still ATV, still hike, camp. Cows were in some of those pastures.

Wildlife mismanagement.

I was worried about the trail camera legislation spreading across the West. Sure glad that hasnt happened.

They slept in an overhead camper in the back of the truck,.. Nice enough guys, seemed dedicated to anything elk.
They never said what they had other than a "few" And maybe would have never said anything except we "caught them coming into their camp ,.. and it wasn't tree branches under that tarp
After dark they loaded a truck ,,.. We heard them loading for some time.

Such beautiful country this time of year. So much of Nevada is a gem most people ignore

Not that much great winter elk range in Nevada. One fellow in his 40's the other in his 60's , Both had bigger ATV's, Mentioned the go back and forth to home. We ran into them about the 25th of March. they had been there 10 days already. They also put us onto two herds over 100 to watch in the AM.

Thatt trip started out a year earlier in the Pilots,.. How did I know the elk completely leave the range in the winter
Still some neat sights in that area. One cool sight , a bald eagle on a post on a stock tank,Saw some wild horses that weren't starving. A an interesting blown apart by the wind preppers camp
I still want to hike up Mt. Wheeler , over 13,000

Damn, thats whats going on. Wondering why i keep finding moose sheds but no cats. Ive been using my "wax leaf ceanothus distress" call instead of my fawn call. Total rookie mistake.
