Did you see it!

Postby Lefty » 04 08, 2024 •  [Post 1]

How much of the eclipse were you able to see or be a part of?

We had plans to be in TexaS for the eclipse, I ended up with Covid.

We did attend the 2017 eclipse and were fed an interesting narrative by a fellow Who attends them across the world. He asked why we selected where we were. For us it was simply an isolated location that we occasionally hunt camp and ATV less than 2 hours from home on public land

He went on and told us we were lucky and would experience what others would never know was happening. We were elevated high enough to see out across the Idaho desert from Totality onward. and also if ready would watch and feel totality appear in the distance, then be with in it..

For me today: I charged the welding helmet, checked a dozen times and watched as the moon traveled to cover 40 % of the sun.

I did not. really had no interest in it and even if I did, it was cloudy here. Kinda crazy how people have such varied interests. I am sure there are gazillions of people who have no interest in my hobbies!

It was cool. 97% where I was and friends travel north to Erie for 100% eclipse. The traffic going up interstate 79 was insane. 500,000 vehicles headed north past Pittsburgh. Backed up for miles.
