the best thing about summer. tomatoes!

Postby pointysticks » 07 18, 2013 •  [Post 1]

i'd argue that anyone that hates tomatoes has never eaten one off the vine..all warm from the sun.

it is a race between me and some squirrels!! i got a few today before they got to them. (cant say the same about my apricots)

the world gave me tomatoes!! my harvest is gosh darn good this year. tonight, i picked a bunch of veggies and i am gonna make a mexican shrimp cocktail! best way to use up alot of tomatoes.

how are everyones plants doing? sorry if you still have snow ;)

I only plant a few tomato plants and they're just starting to get going.. Heck, I have some toms as big as squirrel oysters  Not a very good growing season in the Evergreen State.. Congrats on yours though.. Love me some vine ripened tomato's.

Must of my tomatoes come from the super market. I miss having a garden. I like mine with just a little salt and pepper. Olive oil is great too.

I love growing tomatoes. The plants look good as do nice red tomatoes on the vine. But you'll never catch me eating a fresh tomato! Disgusting! My wife eats them, but for me the only good tomato is in a stew or pasta sauce!

A little sugar.

I used to have a garden. This year I planted a couple of Roma's in pots. Looking forward to the harvest! Can't hardly eat a store bought tomato. But out of the garden is the cat's meow. As a kid, I used to eat so many I would get canker sores in my mouth.

Growing season? What's that???? I lost the whole garden from frost on July 5 once. But I have to say that there is nothing like sitting out in the tomatoe patch with a salt shaker in hand.

Heres some of our squash and zucchini. Some of our tomato plants died from too much moisture.
