Postby bnsafe » 07 18, 2013 •  [Post 1]

I just bought my sons first elk and antelope tags. I bought a otc bull for the second rifle season. hope I shouldn't have got the third season. I may by him a otc cow tag for the first rifle season if he wants to go.

Very exciting, I'm still 10 years from buying my Son his first elk tag. I just hope I do a good job as a dad and raise him to appreciate the outdoor sports that i love.

Thats cool!
watch the weather and the leftover tags available as the season get closer.
you can exchange that 2nd season tag for a 3rd or maybe a 4th season tag possibly

Me too. OTC bull tag for my 12 year old and myself. We have a plan to back pack into the high country for 4-5 days and see what we can do. Also have cow tags for the same area but later season. The nice thing about Utah antlerless tags is that we can use them out of season if we have another bull or buck tag for the same area. This effectivly doubles our season for the cows.

I always buy the boys OTC archery ES tags because you can trade them in and keep on hunting in any open cow season until the seasons end or they fill the tags. I'm don't think they can do that with OTC bull tags.
