Poor video quality

Postby >>>---WW----> » 11 04, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Is it just my computer or does everyone else have this problem?

When viewing videos here on the elknut forum, they are all washed out. So light I can barely make them out. Yet when I go to Youtube and view the very same video, they are perfect.

What gives??????????

WW,

I haven't really noticed a drop in quality between an embedded video on the forum vs on the actual you tube site. Can you provide one of the forum threads have have an embedded video that you've noticed this on? Will take a look and let JF know if I see a difference also.

Take your pick. It is (every) video! It is like you turn the brightness level as hi as it will go on a TV. Yet the same vid on the same computer on youtube is normal.

Pictures on the forum are great. Videos are always way too bright.

I just opened cnelk's walleye fishing VID (actually started the forum link VID and also opened up the actual you tube VID and watched them both at the same time). I see very little difference in VID quality? Not sure what's going in your situation. I'll check with J. Fitzgerald and see if he has any ideas.

I just did the same think with cnelk's vid. It was great on Youtube and all washed out (real light) here on the forum. Anyone else having this problem???????????

I think it is your computer WW. Everything seems to be ok here.

WW, it may or may not help but ensure your computer is not "bound up" with a ton of extra stuff. When is the last time you deleted your browsing history? That may have something to do with your streaming VIDs not working well but not sure. Give it a shot and see if it helps (click tools on top of this page, select delte browsing history, and delete all). I checked with John F. and this forum does not have a resolution adjustment setting so that's not it.

I tried deleting the browsing history. Didn't work! Guess I'll just have to live with it.

WW: I believe all of these computers are possessed with demons. Most if not all of them are programed to frustrate seniors. I took my computer to a shop staffed with "experts", and got it back nearly as bad as it was when I took it to them. It is all apart of a conspiracy to drive us insane. :D

10-4 Swede. A pocket calculator and a reel to reel projector were a lot more less complicated!

Hey, I resemble that remark! I'm only a few short years from when I can start perusing the senior menu :). In fact, I'm putting an AM/FM 'cassette' player in my old 68 chevelle and clearly remember 8 tracks. Good luck figuring out your computer WW.
