It's your birthday, fathers/mothers day, anniversary, last day before being taken by Bigfoot or Zombies, whatever. What is your favorite meal, period?

That is a tough one RJ. The meal would be simple.. I like a good steak and something on the side, including a biscuit or bun, and a good slice of cherry pie is a good idea. I have to watch my weight, so I don't get much pie. Now, if some critter is going to eat me tomorrow, forget the diet. I will have two slices of pie. :D

Spicy Thai dish with quality meat in it, not the sometimes cheap meat they throw in there.

Desert: my mom's blueberry pie. She makes it with half or less sugar the way I like it.

The 2 don't exactly go together, however, I never eat my desert right after my meal.

If I was really going to pull out all the stops, I would have the best Muddled Mojitos made with the real Cuban Havana Club rum. Cuban embargo prevents us US people from getting the real good stuff. Baracadi stole the name and makes their version in Puerto Rico. Maybe our Canadian friends here can help me help out and send me some real Cuban Havana Club rum, don't worry about it being illegal to send it to me ;) After all, this is my last meal. I can legally buy weed, but I can't buy real Cuban Havana Club rum

Appetizer is cheese fondue with rye bread, green olives, and green apple chunks to dunk. Grilled bacon wrapped filet (medium), 3 or 4 large Alaskan king crab legs with hot dipping butter, and my world famous twice baked tato. Asked Mrs Phantom and she agreed with all my choices but would substitute the crab for a lobster tail. She wants a slice of carrot cake with creme cheese for desert also. I'm too stuffed for desert ;)

Almost unfair to narrow it down to just 1, but if I had to, home made pasta, with the family's Italian sausage recipe, fresh bread, a big salad. And top it off with a cannoli.. Or 2.

Mine would have to be crab legs with a couple sides. Here in eastern Colorado they have a special meal called a "Cajun Boil" :P probably have them all over, but it consists of crab legs, shrimp, sausage, corn on the cobb & ice cold beer........all you can eat & drink! A feast fit for a King!

A big bunch of fried up frog legs!

Now if any of you guys from the Midwest or South happen to be coming out to NW Colorado next fall, I might just trade some information on where to hunt for a big mess of fresh frog legs.

I'm not going to narrow it completely down: Surf and turf. A big filet mignon and a couple lobster tails. Garlic mashed potatoes and plain old sweet corn for a veggie. And no doubt after I give it a minute a huckleberry milkshake.

The blueberry pie was tempting as is a peach pie. But I love ice cream so I went with the huck shake.

Definitely a 2 inch thick piece of rare to medium rare prime rib, with a side of asparagus and garlic pepper-jack mashed potatoes. Wash it down with a Boulevard Wheat unfiltered beer. No dessert for this guy. If there's room left in the bottomless pit, MORE PRIME RIB!!!

Fresh Dungeoness...or a medium rare beef filet.

Either entree with a Caesar salad, loaded baked potato, and asparagus

Can't make up my mind between the two!

Sourdough biscuit/bread with real butter and honey

Bison or elk Filet, rare, topped with sauteed onion/mushrooms, with baked potato and asparagus/zucchini mixture, paired with Cabernet. For dessert, chocolate cake and some bourbon, neat.

Or ... my wife's chili. I'll founder on that. :D

To be honest, though, food has become a bit like beer in my 40s ... I love the stuff, but I no longer leave the moderation zone. It's not that I don't want to, but rather that it makes me feel physically uncomfortable. :x

I suppose that's a good thing, though!

LIVERMUSH? . Is that braunshweiger (sp?) or liver sausage. Growing up we called it "bung putty". I still do sometimes, but I was older I figured out dad called it that because it is stuffed into beef bung casing.
