Smart phone Apps for elk hunters

Postby >>>---WW----> » 02 07, 2014 •  [Post 1]

I was messing around with my phone and decided to see if I could find some good Apps. for the hunter. Here are a couple of free ones you might like. They are free. So you can load them up and if you don't like them you can delete them.

1)Trimble GPS Hunt: Good 1:24000 maps. I think they may be from MyTopo. Weather info, bullet ballistics, sun and moon phase, and several
other things

2) Commander Compass Lite: This is a very accurate compass. And it also gives altitude, date & time, and cordinates. The compass appears to be dead nuts on and can be adjusted to true north.

Both are free Apps and seem to be very good . What are some good apps that the rest of you have found.?

Cool. I'll check those two out. Love fee apps that relate to hunting. I've got these on my iPhone:

Google earth, gas buddy (good for traveling, shows best gas prices in area), mag light (lights up and magnifies small prints), and timer cam so I can use my clip shot on iPhone with in timer mode.

Trying to make everyone responding to the "Dumb Phone" thread jealous? [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES] Good plan!

Just google earth and evernote to jot down my thoughts as I'm out and about.

That mag light one might come in handy if I forget my specks. 8-)

Keep em coming! Let me know what you think of the Trimbel Hunt one, RJ. I think it could be a good backup if my GPS happens to take a dump.

WW, so far the Trimble GPS Hunt is pretty dang cool. I haven't played around with it that much but like what I see so far.

Soundcloud is a free app also folks.
