Proud of the old girl

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 07 19, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Well, the old rust bucket shook her tail feathers and pulled out a win today. Should have taken my clip shot for a car/owner photo op after the judging ;)

Beautiful! Some of my fondest memories are of the cars from that era. :D

Everything I ever posted about this excellent SS, ditto. Congratulations! I envy the people that saw and heard it in person.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I actually had to sell my fishing boat so I could finish the resto on the old girl but it was a good tradeoff as wifey likes to ride in the car much more than hours of trolling for poor salmon runs in Puget Sound ;)

Dean, yaaaaaa suuuuuure you can drive it anytime you want

Mark, here's a short VID I made last year for Tim (DOTMAN) who came out and hunted ID with me and Ernie (DirtyErn) SEP 2013. I know you like the old Chev's so I figured you'd get a kick out of this. She wasn't shined up for a show or anything, and, needed a bit of tuning but you get the gist. Can you tell I'm proud of the roller tach in the dash 8-) Oh, I fixed that squeaky door also.

Having trouble embedding the youtube vid for some reason but this link should take you there. RJ

Great video, thanks. Did you say "roller tach," only available in '68?

Mark, since I made that vid, I've found that they put in roller tachs for a handful of years with certain dash options. In 68, they ended up in a bit under 5% of the chevelles so it was still a pretty rare thing.
