Long day, don't want to cook......

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 07 31, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Yikes, had to take the day off work to move my wife's granny (94 years young) into a special memory care home from her previous assisted living home (furniture, clothes, hanging pics, etc., etc., more etc.,) I'm beat and do not want to cook. Wifey is still in town finishing the paperwork, and, she'll be meeting my daughter for a late dinner in town. I "do not" want to cook. No frozen pizzas in the freezer, so, I grabbed the next best thing I spose. I would wager it won't taste as good as it does on the mountain after a day of humping the ridges and draws ;) Water is a boiling. Delicious meals anytime, anywhere

You need to give us a review. Is it as good as when you are in the woods?

What you Mountain House guys should do is order a sack of green chile from Hatch Valley, NM and dehydrate it after peeling it and keep it in a zip lock bag to add to the Mtn House when you're adding water. It's a nice change. A couple precautionary notes, 1) the baggie might make you look like one of the guys in the "Will you partake" thread and 2) when peeling the chile, make sure you thoroughly wash your hands before going to take a leak (yes, speaking from experience).

Wasn't bad at all, especially with a bit of Cholula chipoltle sauce doused into the MH package (don't leave home without it). I actually do like the MH freeze dried chow. It tastes very good to me after a long day visiting with elk ;)

There is no way I'd eat one of those when I don't have to.

It is honestly my limiting factor on how long I can stay out. 10 days so far. That last ubag will usually make me heave. The ubiquitous aftertaste is brutal.

And hatch chilis. ??? I do a huge bag every fall. I'm about out now. :(

Exactly my sentiments. My condolences to RJ. I would have gone to a nearby restaurant. Well RJ at least you did not have a lot of dishes to wash up after. :D
