Some pics from gold and elk country and the very edge of Fr

I enjoy stomping around gold country. we covered a lot of ground and saw some neat country.
We stayed in a NF campground one night because "the bathroom was clean" and we were the only ones in the campground.

Absolutely gorgeous pics Lefty; thank you for sharing them with us. I'm digging on the old cabin. Are those solar panels on the lookout? That's the first time I've seen those on a lookout.

Yes: the guy manning the tower(10 days on 4 days off) had to keep his I-pod, radio, 2-way radio, and phone charged 8-)
lights and fridge were propane.

Most exciting to me was his chair sitting on glass insulators to sit on during storms.

Nice pictures, looks like a good time. So I guess every time there's a storm, he has to run to that chair?

Yep
Doesnt need to be a storm either. he was saying how the hand rail and lightening rods will often have huge static chargers in the evening, when he sees the charge jumping to the lightening cables he is suppose to sit on the chair too.
