Tooth Fairy? How Much For A Lost Tooth?

Postby ElkNut1 » 10 16, 2014 •  [Post 1]

I know things are different than when I was a kid but wow I had no idea the Tooth Fairy was so generous these days! (grin) When I was a lad you hoped to get .25 for a lost tooth sometimes it was only a nickel & I was happy to get that! I hear these days that kids are getting 5.00 to 10.00 per tooth lost!!! Wow!

How much did you get when you were a kid or how much do you now give your kids (under pillow) when a tooth is lost?

I have a 2 and a 5 year old no lost teeth yet. I'm thinking a quarter is good, but the wife is thinking a little more, I hope not more than a buck. Maybe I well make it one of those gold Sacagawea dollars. But on the other hand I went to the bank yesterday and got them each a $2 dollar bill for no reason other then it go to a good cause.

My Wife would go to the bank and get a bunch of the Sacagawea Gold dollar coins.

Kinda like getting a gold piece, cool for a little kid!

My Kid's baby teeth are long gone now :(

2 dimes and a nickel were all I got :D But with inflation, it's got to be at least a couple of bucks now. Now if I were to lose a tooth, I would like a non-resident Idaho elk tag

First tooth for each kid was $10.00. Each tooth since has been $3.00.

My daughter knocked out her two front baby teeth on our trampoline (knee to face) last summer. That cost us a trip to the ER AND an emergency dental visit. Of course, it was a Sunday afternoon so there were no dentists open. I was hesitant to give anything since she didn't really "lose" the teeth naturally...but the high of the laughing gas soon wore off and she was very excited about the tooth fairy visit that night...I should have left her the bill from the ER.

25 cents for me. I would expect more for my capped teeth if I lost one these days
