looking for good Family Oriented Outdoor movies

Postby Kevrod3 » 11 09, 2014 •  [Post 1]

We recently got rid of Direct Tv but are trying Netflix. Looking for fun outdoor type movies for the kids. We watch where the Red Fern grows. It was one of my favorites as a kid. Old Yeller isn't on Netflix

Ideas??? Thanks!

I remember watching Mountain Family Robinson. Can't remember too much of it though now. It had a lot of wildlife in it. That I do remember.

A few that come to mind. My side of the mountain, Charlie the lonesome cougar, homeward bound, old yeller, babe, free willy, white fang, big red, Swiss family Robinson. Love the old movies :)

Yes, I've seen most of the ones mentioned, there are some classics there! Another the wife & I just watched last week was Mother Goose with Cary Grant, (could be father goose?) it was pretty darned good!

I honestly dont remember much about it other than i loved it when i saw it in a theatre as a kid... the bear. Only scene that comes to mind is the bear cub eating an aminita muscaria and tripping watching a frog... made an impression though. I think ill watch it again

A movie with some great outdoor scenery "Last of the Dogmen", loved watching the dog in this movie.

Don't sleep on the outdoor documentaries like national geo has. I'm watching American beaver right now and it's very good.
