Lack of Common Sense, and wasting food.

gah!! it's funny and tragic at the same time.

a family member (on my wife's side -phew!) went fishing. in Monterrey..about a solid 3-4 hour drive away. group of them rented a party boat and went fishing for Rock Cod. everyone is the exact opposite of an outdoorsman. these are intellegent computer gee..no. people.

i'm pulling game cam cards with my wife high up in the hills. my wife gets a text. "hey, how many rock cod do you want..i'm bringing back 20!"

"i dont know. how big are they?"

"regular size"

"let's play a game and pretend we dont know now big a regular sized rock cod is"

"about 6 inches"

hours go by..we get home, eat dinner..and the doorbell rings at 8:00pm. in comes the family member carrying one of those cheapo dime-store foam ice boxes. he plops the box on my dinner table and i peek in. slowly.

i utter the words, "mmmm..no ice?"

"no, should i have gotten ice?"
"how long has it been?"
"about 6 hours..maybe 8"

the box was hot!! 20..15" cod wrapped in that plastic bag they hand out fish in, in a hot ice box. the smell was horrendous. i suggested he locate a public garbage can at some park, and toss the entire bag. it was slimy..and did i mention the smell? hahhaha..

AND he clearly doesnt know what 6 inches look like. he had to get on his phone and text everyone else on the trip to tell them to toss their catch as well. 4 grown men..none of them thought they should buy ice.
