Barely Surviving Here....

Postby Indian Summer » 12 29, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Wife went to sit grandkids... asked what will you eat. I said you know me, I'll dig up some meat. So she got in her car and backed out the drive, as I said don't worry honey, I'll try to survive. So I shut the door thinking what should I do.. how about two lobsters, elk filets and a Blue. You women can cook, decorate and give birth.. but I bet it was a guy who invented surf and turf. ;)

Steaks looks great, I'm presuming med. rare. But that big crawdad is just scary. Maybe some drawn butter would calm it down. Good for you, Joe, you deserve the best.

I don't like you very much, not much at all. Really, I just choked down some "beef" taco fixings from last night wrapped in a few corn shells, warmed up in the microwave. I'm gonna kill two elk this coming year (one Roosey and one big fat Idaho bull) and taunt you with every pictured dish I can imagine throughout the next year, starting in October 2015. I hope Santa brought you a big bag of coal 8-) Good looking eats Joe. Congrats on your Steelers making the big stage this year.

Medium Elkduds. I like mine a little dead. lol

This years elk is unreal. Those cuts fall apart with a fork. The lobster came from a trip to New Brunswick on the coast. Just across from Nova Scotia. I ate the other one before I decided to take a pic to wave in Phantom's face. A side benefit of visiting friends to bear hunt there. A relative of my buddy has the market cornered on them there at the marina. Right off the boat. He let's them go to me for 5 or 6 bucks each. I take a monster cooler up and fill it before the trip home. Who needs grocery stores!

It was so good I think I'm actually going to have the exact same thing for dinner again tomorrow.

I have not had that desert in a long time not since Canada fly-in-fishing 2005. I never had lobster, but steak look so gooooooood. I'm more of a meat and potatoes man here.

Elk steak and lobster two nights in a row, man Joe, you've got it rough  I hope that lobster latches on to your nose and doesn't let go

You're mean Phantom. And bitter too.

You'll be happy to know my plans got sidetracked. Came home ready to do it again and here the wife made chili. Elk chili of course. We eat elk pretty regularly. It's been that way for a lot of years fortunately.

No doubt. I see an empty chair by the fireplace soon if things don't change... I hope he starts eating better real soon. I mean, elk steak and lobster all the time just can't be good for 8-)
