Yeah finding 5" long canine tracks just 4 miles from my house is a trifle upsetting. I guess i should get some more of my cameras hung pretty soon here.

They have moved on... from somewhere else to there. Most likely to find an area to call their own after the alphas ran them off. And since it is one of Whitey's favorite spots I'll assume the hunting there is half decent so guess what.... they have no reason to leave.

The Indians hope the white man would move on too. Ask them how than panned out.

Do yourself a favor... do not hesitate. Take care of your problem while it is in the early stages because if you don't there will be no chance of getting a grip on it. If that happens you will not see the area rebound in your lifetime.

Well while out looking for cougar tracks this morning i came upon another set of wolf tracks here in my local playground. Tracks were from a lone wolf. Well tonight i got a call, apparently one collared male wolf is up where i was coug hunting today. Im going to be cold calling the area next couple days if i cant cut a fresh cat track. Really hope i dont call in a hundred pound yote with a collar. Guess ill have my phone out ready to take pics, just in case.

With any luck maybe one of these big tom cougars will kill the lone wolf. Really doubt it, but you never know. Could be that the overpopulation of lions in this area might just work in my favor for once.

Today i found giant (~5") canine tracks in the snow down by the creek at the end of my driveway. I only have a couple neighbors, and i know every dog in the area. Today i had the biggest neighborhood dog walk down by these tracks with me, and her paws were about 1/3rd the size. A month ago a collared wolf was running around about 2 miles from my house. These tracks looked very much the same. I kind of want to go hike up my hill and check my cams right now. But i kind of dont.
