Wow, 33 years, you must have perfected your work and beyond, that's so cool, now I'm understanding why you are so busy all the time ! Just this year I learned one of my neighbors (rural, so about 6 miles away) is a taxidermist, he teaches classes for people to learn the art but they are so expensive! Yet another one of my passions that I haven't even really scratched the surface on. Man those ATV's are so cool, how much would a cheap one be, humor me.

You can get into a used 6x6 for around 6k. when they are available.

Foxvalley, what's a reasonable turnaround time on an elk shoulder mount? My guy just finished up the bulls that a buddy and I shot in 2013 (648 days). He did a great job, but good hell.

Everybody is different on the time frame.A reasonable turn around is 1 year, any longer than that,should be considered unreasonable. I am just finishing all the elk/carabou that came in last year, and will have ALL the headmounts done before Nov.
Seems like the part time or hobby taxidermist take longer, as they are doing it in their spare time,but the most important thing is they do a great job.
