A real campfire

Postby Lefty » 10 23, 2016 •  [Post 1]

I broke my condition of no fires while hunting,. After lots of miles, 1000 elevation gain and over 3500 feet in descending elevation sometimes in 10 inches of slippery snow, 29 does and not a single buck my daughter and I were worn out at 3:30 in the afternoon. I was aware that one group had broke camp just 1/2 mile from where our ATV was parked.
They had left this beautiful 1/4 cord of split lodge-pole and a couple bags of pellets in the fire ring.
Some dry limber pine needles and the lighter in my pack and we had a nice blaze, to nap by.
My daughter thought me napping was picture worthy,.. but that pic isnt getting posted

These fellows had a plow brought up,.. flatten a location for the campsite.
New everything, wall tents, trucks ATV's ,.. looked like a magazine cover campsite.
I think when the snow melts in June Ill take the scouts up there,.. just a nice site
