Memorial Day Thoughts

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 05 26, 2017 •  [Post 1]

Let us never forget and pay tribute to, as Americans, those who fought and died to preserve and perpetuate the very freedom we enjoy each and every day. On one knee, with head bowed, I thank the brave American Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors that have fought our nations battles both past and present and were not able to return home to Montana, Minnesota, Georgia, Texas, etc..... because they made the ultimate sacrifice. Rest in peace brothers and sisters, I know you are watching over your families and our country from afar.

Thanks for posting.
So many think this is just a vacation Monday. My father served in Korea, Only him and a buddy out of five came back.
Veterans and Memorial days have been a " bad day" for my nephew. Some that are not buried 6 foot under, but have still been lost.

Locally this is our tribute Very impressive, when entering from the south on I-15

You never know what awaits you when you enlist.
Thanks to all who still signed on the line and raised their right hand to take the oath.
Thanks to all who served honorably.

As a former member of both the army and navy, I have never carried a protest sign or joined in a demonstration. Still, I am blessed and thankful for these rights we enjoy as Americans. That includes the right to peacefully join together to show our dissatisfaction with the status quo. From the Abolitionists and the underground railroad, to union strikes and the civil rights marches of Dr. Martin Luther King, we have become a better Nation. It was not because of the good will of those in the positions of wealth and power. The road is still long, and we have so far to go, but keep marching folks.
Someday Jesus will come again with his army. Then you can stand down and we will have a perfect union.
