Yay, the cats will be happy. Hope you didn't use that hand cannon of yours....that would be polecat overkill. ;). Bury that stinky thief deep.

I really do want him mounted! I saw a skunk mount once and thought it was awesome. For now its in a game bag hanging up outside my barn, hoping my taxi calls me in the a.m. before i have to go to work. I used a .22lr, from my living room window.

You would think your taxidermist would appreciate the work. Seams rather aloof to me.

It is almost 9pm, and the guy is over 70. Probably in bed.

Sure are lots of funny critters running around this time of year. Yesterday a river otter ran from my pasture into the creek just across the road. That one really surprised me.

No excuse. Swede is just a few years older than me and he's still up. :).

Otters are fricking awesome as are all in their family. When I used to trap in the big sky state, mink and marten were my favorite. I've had a good handful of ferrets as pets over the years, they crack me up.

You need to hang around and watch your taxidermist skin your skunk. If you don't you will get a made over house cat that looks sorta like a skunk. BTW: It is after 9:00 PM and I am still up.

Maybe im a weirdo, but ive wanted a skunk mount for quite a while now. Badger is on the short list too. And porcupine. Porkys are very rare around here, im sure due to our high lion population, and badgers can only be taken by trapping, which i dont have a trapping license. Ill need to go badger hunting in idaho one of these days, and i dont know what to do for a porky.

I have seen badgers and porcupines near where I hunt in Oregon. I can share some places to look for them if you like.

In the mid 70s we use to get 3.00 to 5.00 for most of our skunks. And we just had to drop them off in a cooler.

Eastern stats mn 85 %"of the skunks carried the rabies virus. SD I've 90%

If you want a porky, take a pheasant hunting trip to eastern MT, ND or SD. We usually see a few every year. We have only had a couple of dogs get quilled though. I took my dog to the vet when she got cut on a fence once out there and saw a dog in the vets office that had hundreds of quills in its mouth. Hundreds. Oh man, did it look painful.
