Postby Lefty » 06 20, 2017 •  [Post 1]

Add something if you wish.
This past week We had dinner in the "Moose Capitol of the World", ( well actually one of several  ) the county has over 800 moose and is also know as the largest county in the US without a stop light.

Give a guess or some other trivia!!

Somewhere in alaska seems like it would be the answer, but as far as i know, alaska doesnt have counties, it has burroughs. Wa is out, and the yellowstone areas moose population has taken a massive **** since the wolf introduction. So it has to be somewhere like michigan or maine, somewhere in the northeast.

Like many "Worlds greatest" some are self proclaimed, So there is certainly more than one Moose Capitol.
They also claim the largest county in the US without a stoplight
Well not in any Canadian "counties or States ;) Or Minnesota or Idaho Or Michigan or any NE states including Maine

WA what was the show that was filmed in Washington 25-30 years ago, with the storyline about small town in Alaska. I think they had signage up about being a moose something or another, but that may have just been for filming

Jackson County Colorado, High elevation valley.

I spoke with our waitress, she had a 4 year degree in rangeland and cattle husbandry. She was from the front range and had never heard of the Jackson county seat. less than 150 miles from her home.
And to my liking the Arapaho National Refuge https://www.fws.gov/refuge/arapaho/
