Postby WapitiTalk1 » 09 05, 2017 •  [Post 1]

The September 2017 Photo Theme is – "Mother Nature at her Worst". Post up a photo of a Mother Nature showing her bad side.

Rules:

1. One photo submission allowed per month, per member (yep, MODs may enter a photo also).
2. Photo must relate to the monthly theme (or risk being disqualified).
3. Do not use photo editing software to enhance your photo. Just post the photo as it was taken with your camera, smart phone, trail cam, etc. You may have to resize some photos so they are accepted by the forum software.
4. You may use older photos you have on hand, but, do not submit a photo that has won a previous WT photo contest.
5. Any WT member may enter a photo they have taken or star in.
6. Judging – WT members will vote on monthly photo submissions.
7. Contest period will normally end the last day of the month.
8. Winner must contact WapitiTalk1 via PM and provide mailing address for prize (your prize may be sent directly from a WT sponsor or from RJ).
9. Prizes will vary from month to month.

* At the end of the year, all monthly contest winners will be automatically entered into a Photo of the Year Contest.

The best photo (as voted by the WT members) for September 2017 will receive an Alpine Touch product (seasoning or country style BBQ sauce).

This is a picture of a bad bad mother nature bear stealing my Rhinehart 18:1 target from my backyard. He/she grabbed the target and ran past my trail camera on my backyard food plot.

this was a few years ago, short and very intense storm that was not forecasted, it was supposed to blow gale, but not 90 knots. this is where we work all winter, and this was by far the worst I have seen it. I have seen it as big (I think it was 35ft swell) but never that big from that direction. as you can see, a lot of stuff was lost off of the dock that day. I dove on it the next day to try to remove the underwater hazards. pretty big cleanup effort.

this location is unique, just to the right of the photo, there are 2 huge cranes attached to the dock, that is how we launch and get out of the water every day, the crane picks the boat up, and sets us in the water, at days end, it lifts us up, and puts us back on the trailer, it's about 40ft to the water.

Nothing worse then watching an old warrior on his last leg, pure skin and bone, note the lack of backstrap along his back bone...he was still alive in this pic....could barely stand, would only walk about 10-20 feet at a time before laying down...he died a few days later

Would have loved to have had the chance to hunt him

Pic I got of 2 locked bucks. Coyotes ate the one till it was light enough for the other to getaway! Found the deadhead and the sheds off the live one along a fenceline in spring!

wow! great photos!

I wonder with the horrible fire seasons the past couple years if there may be some good fire pics that would fit the theme nicely.

Well Roosiebull, here a combination of burnt timber from last year's fire in the background with this seasons wet snow falling on camp.
