Close brush with death

Postby wawhitey » 10 03, 2017 •  [Post 1]

Im lucky to be alive after a run in with the most fearsome predator in alaska. I could tell she was getting ready to make me her next meal, but thanks to my quick thinking i was able to pacify the beast with some leftover chicken.

Full grown, pretty big really. Perspective probably makes it look small. After feeding it chicken and a hard boiled egg, the man eating beast stalked me for quite some time, but apparently it was satiated enough not to attack. I narrowly escaped with my limbs intact.

So lucky. You were one snap/chomp/rip away from learning to write with a charcoal pencil lodged between your chin and chest. Viscious beast there......

Thread resurrection, i know. Stuck in dutch harbor lately. Tonight on my way to the local watering hole (just to get directions away from that den of degeneracy) we almost ran over 3 foxes. 2 black, 1 red. Several hours later, back at the dock, theres a black and a red. I was too stupid to bring back any treats. But without any snacks to bribe them with i still managed to get one to come close enough to touch its nose to my fingertips. I expect to be here at this dock until monday morning. My goal is to make friends with these little monsters and lure them onto the boat. From there, maybe ill be able to establish a breeding population in stevens county. One can always dream. First things first. Gotta feed them some sausages and sardines tomorrow night

Ive been feeding some sort of canines in the pasture. Need to check the trail cams.

Hoping for my trophy bald eagle pics. The critters are as friendly in the back pasture as they are on an Alaskan loading dock.

Andrew the guy I elk hunted with this year had a small black bear that would sit outside his line shack( camper ) , Always showed up when he was cooking, no matter the time of day.
But he didnt tease the bea  r with his fingers on food.
