Just be glad it's not a big diesel. That Tacoma should pull out easy. Diesels buried in the front end, come out hard. Don't ask me how I know. Great idea to have a receiver hitch front and back with winch wiring along with each and a winch fitted to a receiver so you can pull front or back

The times are long gone when you could get your hi-lift jack out, jack up the corners of the truck, and fill in the dug out holes with rock or ???

Well, my help got stuck. Manahed to get them unstuck eventually, but they couldnt get close enough and had to bail. Now of course, thunder lightning and rain. So im making myself comfortable for the night. Luckily i always go prepared for some impromptu truck camping. So now im enjoying a fire in the rain, and getting a paleo meal heated up. Also, lucky me, i have 4g signal and a bottle of bourbon. Gotta look on the bright side right?

Nope, nobody can get to me. The old mans gonna come up with shovels, pickaxes, comealong, boards, etc etc in the a.m., see what we can do. This is very much not good. I need to have my head examined trying to drive up here this time of year.

I know what you need this fine (although unplanned) evening in the mountains. A Patrick McManus book of short stories to pass the time! I’ll see if I can get a hawk to carry one your way in the next few hours.

Ah! I have a new book in my truck, i forgot! Thanks for the reminder. Like i said, im always prepared. Got a good book to read, about 5 gallons of water, enough food to outlast my water easily. And a book. The only thing that worries me is the half 5th of bourbon and half a can of chew....

Ah let them join you for the camp out. We were coming from Nevada last fall and snow storm hit, couldn't see the white line from the passenger seat. I told the wife we have the horse trailer with a mattress and sleeping bags in the tack room. mountain houses, water and whiskey. Great night of impromptu camping.

True that! We got my brother in laws pickup burried out in a pivot track, after chaining up to no avail. We had to walk back to his house and get the tractor. It was 10 below, but ground was insulated by snow.

He had the same last year, and got his tractor stuck too....ouch!

Congratulations Five Stars!!!
I feel better knowing I'm in such good company.

Now you can buy those fancy plastic traction pads. Hmm my birthdays coming up https://www.extremeterrain.com/tred-800-military-green-recovery-and-extraction-device-8717.html?utm_content=XT%20Winches%20-%20Accessories%7CTRED&utm_source=google-pla&utm_medium=shopping&T5_Var2=shopping&T5_Var3=yellow&T5_Var4=J104913&intl=0&utm_campaign=XTW+Wrangler+Vehicle+Medium&gclid=CMmW6PL889oCFWOJxQIdF8EFPQ&gclsrc=ds
Five or six of theses a Highlift , shovel and a few hours and you would have been home with a muddy truck and sore back :o

Im an expert at very similar situations,..I have a well rounded experiences. .
I can proudly say I have never needed outside vehicle and people help. except the time my dad came out with a school bus to pull my 63 ford Gallaxie 500 out of a muskrat slough.

My last little situation. Thursday morning before first light.
Put everything back in the bed of the pickup, put the truck in gear and the tires spun,.. during the night the pickup sunk and I was high centered on a dandy of a rock,..I carried rock ,stone and firewood ab built a nice little two track off that rock,

The past few years Ive been turning around sooner,.. but a good shovel, pieces of engineered lumber, a floor jack ( new trucks and a Hi lift jacks combos get expensive  ) I have carried pickupbed liners and a sheets of plywood for over 40 years. Now you can buy those fancy plastic traction pads. Hmm my birthdays coming up https://www.extremeterrain.com/tred-800-military-green-recovery-and-extraction-device-8717.html?utm_content=XT%20Winches%20-%20Accessories%7CTRED&utm_source=google-pla&utm_medium=shopping&T5_Var2=shopping&T5_Var3=yellow&T5_Var4=J104913&intl=0&utm_campaign=XTW+Wrangler+Vehicle+Medium&gclid=CMmW6PL889oCFWOJxQIdF8EFPQ&gclsrc=ds

Last year I got these boys out once,.. but they wouldnt listen,.. they entertained me and the dog for a couple days. Maybe I posted that story

In other news, on this day in 2048, a modern day mountain man was discovered in a high, remote area a bit south of the Washington/Canadian border. It seems that he had buried his truck 30 years earlier and after several failed attempts to "unstick" the truck, decided to just stay up high, away from civilization and live off the land. This is a first hand rendering/drawing of "old Zeke" as he has became known to some who claims to have seem him. Some have claimed to have seen Zeke riding the high ridges on a bull moose........

Glad you made it out! Looks like some nasty roads, dirt will keep falling out of the bottom of your pickup for about 9 months now :D

Looks like it was quite the ordeal.

Good excuse for a winch

That's about right

The same bro in law I mentioned above got the same Chevy stuck last winter, those dirt 2 tracks through sage and pivots right after the snow melted off, they went and got the tractor and buried it too, they had to use a big tractor the next day, they were all suffering from headaches due to the activities the night before.

In October we almost got it bad in my 07 TRD, got lucky to get out of there, but it took a good while. Would have been a 15 or 20 mile hike out. Same thing, desert 2 tracks right after some snow. I had a winch on that one, but sage was the biggest winch anchor around.

No winch on the new one. You folks have a good taste in pickups

Decided to drive through town on my way home, hit the car wash. Spent a good deal of time crawling under my truck blasting everything with the pressure washer. Came out soaking wet and covered in mud, but it needed to be done.

I remember well getting stuck a couple of times when I lived and worked out of Twisp. That soil and the roads they go over look perfectly fine until all of a sudden the bottom falls out from under your truck. Anyway I am glad you are back with your deer and turkeys on the homestead.

No pics of the resurrection. My front passenger mudflap is in the bed of my truck now though. Seems to be the only damage.
