Stringunner's Photo

Postby Swede » 06 21, 2018 •  [Post 1]

Stringunner voted for my photo entry. As he said, it was too little and too late, but a little history is in order here.
Stringunner took that photo. If you could not tell, I am the one wearing the plaid shirt, bent over butchering the elk. He sent me a copy of the posted photo shortly after our hunt two years ago. The bull was a six point, my cousin Jim shot from Stringunner's stand. Stringunner has killed elk there too, including the largest six point I have seen taken in that area. I was 130 yards away when both big bulls were shot.
As with the photo contest, I received no prize either time hunting. "Always a bride's maid, never a bride", or something like that.
As with numerous other spots there is a lot of memories associated with that stand including one other six point killed there and several other elk, plus one bear. When I sit at that stand, I feel like the old Maytag repairman. I have a lot of time to read.
