Non resident hunters

Postby Lefty » 10 03, 2018 •  [Post 1]

I’ve bought hunting and fishing tags a number of years in other states

Why have you purchased other nonresident tags
When I was 13 years old Minnesota’s deer season was closed . My dad set up our whitetail hunt in saskatuwan
Each time I’ve moved I’ve had to purchase anon resident license.
My in laws live in Idaho , so until I moved to Idaho I was purchasing a non res Idaho
What are your reasons or condition to hunt as a non resident

there are no elk in Minnesota (well, there are about 75 I guess, but it is impossible to get a license).

It is rare that I leave Oregon, but enjoy seeing other areas, trying new things and hunting with other people.

My buddy and I dropped $1300+ at Walmart this year for Colorado elk tags. Small price to pay for a week in such a beautiful state chasing the elusive wapiti. Its a real game changer in my moral at home and gives me motivation to stay in shape for next years hunt.
Elk are where you find em...

In 40+ years of hunting, I have bought one Canadian elk tag, and one New Mexico cow elk tag..Last year,I bought two whitetail deer tags for Nebraska so I could hunt with Luke. Other than that,it has been only Colorado resident tags. I live in New Mexico for ten years and bought a few Wyoming antelope and deer tags tags, and one Colorado elk tag

My first non-resident tag was for Wyoming in 1973. Combination Elk, Deer, Bear, and Fishing was $150. Try that now.
