What Sounds Should I Use

Postby JohnFitzgerald » 08 02, 2013 •  [Post 1]

I've seen some recent posts by newbies asking what sounds to use in the early season. Situation usually dictates this but I do use some general guidelines when I approach a calling sequence. Make note, these are just guidelines. Every situation can be different but if you are new to calling you must have a foundation. Try not to cookie cutting every situation, instead build your foundation and then adapt.

When someone asks me the simple question of what calls and when, I first define the two basic instincts that must be targeted. After that, I explain the callings rules and the sounds I use to compliment them.

The following attachment shows that some sounds can be safely used for early and late season.

I’m sure some disagree with me but right, wrong, or indifferent this is just my 2 cents and worth nothing more.
