This stand was old when we first hunted the area.

I made one like that once or twice. That was many years ago. It was far enough in the past that I had to look to see that it was not one of mine. I do not see what the attraction was at that location. Lefty do you have any pictures of the waterhole or whatever the stand was over? The picture looks the same as the country I hunt. It is open and semidry. I last hunted that kind of stand about 1996.

That sure looks a lot like my old stand, and the area is close enough that it could pass with no question if it was in my photo file.

a lot of trees have died the past few years so the timber is thinner than years ago

We had a bear blind 150 yards from this old bling 7-8 years ago. I had a hard time making sence about the location before I realized the elk were coming ac cross the open sage for a mile from one little area to thr big woods.
