Elk tag

I was notified today that I drew my ML cow elk tag for this fall.I need to put a young tender cow in the freezer.This old bulI I got last year has proven to be a bit chewy.

I hope Luke Kesssler drew his archery either sex tag. If so,I am going with him for the 1st few days, hoping to pack his elk out with my mules

Good luck on those elk. I am confident the mules will appreciate the workout.
I am still waiting to see if I draw anything this year. I am planning on the same as usual routing on elk, but should draw a mule deer tag.

Lot of choices Lefty.You can apply for either sex tags, you can apply for a cow tag or you can apply for a bull tag ,all thru draws. A lot of units have what is known as a "B" tag, mostly cows, but you can have an "A tag for a bull and certain units only have "A tags for cows. But you can have one "A" tag and one 'B" tag or two "B" tags, and they don't al have to be in the same season.

There are a few exceptions of course, especially on private land .

I will be hunting in ML season in September for a cow, but can and will buy a bull tag for the 2nd rifle season. Most of the time, I only kill one, but for a few years I have killed two.The 2nd one I give to a needy family.

Im in...was a relief to draw!!

Now I just need to make sure I arrow this bull while Vince is with me with his mules those first few days. Will be a much easier pack out with some company.

Send me your phone number so I can call as I come thru..Mostly archery hunters were I go, and they go high thinking that is where all the big bulls are.I hunt a small resident herd of cows.
