Idaho Bull Down

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 09 17, 2019 •  [Post 1]

Recouping today from a brutal pack out. Dropped meat off at processor, grabbed some more ice blocks, grabbed a burger, called Mrs Wapiti to check in on her, back up the mountain to work on getting my buddy his bull.

Exactly. And a detailed story about why this alleged pack out was more difficult than most.

Great work on the bull. You do realize leaving this group hanging like that is justifiable cause to make significant modifications to your car and relocate it right? This forum may be in complete shambles before you get back. At least that's how other forums work.... I've been told.

Our illustrious leader is nothing if he is not a glutton for punishment. I am sure his partner in crime heard a bugle and said something like "It's not that bad, he is right there on the other side in those trees." He's right, but the other side in over in that area there is a steep 1000ft down and then 1000ft up the other side in a alder thicket mess... Ahh the rabbbit holes a true Elk addict will jump into.

Sorry I was not there to help pack out RJ!

You know, he is gonna need more room on the wall to hang this new beast of a rack. Seems to me that it would be a perfect time to help him out and take the current one down and install on Big Red's hood. I might have to go over and get that done for him so he has a nice surprise when he gets home.

Did you really get an elk RJ or did you just help someone pack out one? We are starting to wonder here.

I think his heart grew ten sizes bigger and he doesn’t have the desire to actually shoot one. When are we going to get the rest of the story though. I heard he is still having sinus problems and when he breathes it sounds like a squealy spike and herd bulls come running in to see who is trying to steal their ladies.

He has no cell reception up at his elk camp. Ahh the bliss of no constant bling, ding, chirp of modern techonology, I am jealous!

We probably will not hear from him again unless 1, they get another elk down and return to town, or 2, they have packed camp and are heading home.

Now he has cell phone issues huh? We had reception when I was over there. Also my cell phone has an off ("END") switch, so it is not going to interrupt me. I am beginning to think Indian Summer is onto something. :D

I was able to kidnap Big Red and take it to the drag strip in Denver over the weekend. I'm sure glad they didn't make me tear down after I took the top stock eliminator trophy. Now all I have to do is get it back to Rainer before our illustrious leader gets home from his hunt!!!!!!!

PS

Sorry about the dents and scratches. The handyman jack slipped while I was putting the racing slicks on. :o  But I think a little Bondo and a couple cans of Krylon should fix it back up!

Krylon and Bondo are good, but after you replace the slicks; I think you can just stage the scene in RJ's garage to look like Mrs. Wapiti left the garage door open. Then the neighbor's dog knocked over the garbage can or something and caused the damage. Another way to deal with it would be to do a little burn-out in the driveway so it will look like a hit and run. It is just too much trouble trying to fix old paint and metal.

Geezus! This is the kind of rabblerousing and Chevelle vandalism that I was afraid of during my absence. I do like the St Bernard and whiskey idea though, could use a warm up. Back from spike for a few days to dry clothes and will hunt from base a bit. Here’s my 15 SEP Idaho bull. Still working on getting Joe a shot.
