Too many cow, too much grass, or no grass.

Two years ago many of the forest service pastures near where we hunt the cows had eaten to dirt,,, and were actually losing weight on some pastures we hunt.

At that time in September elk ,by the hundreds, were headed out to ungrazed BLM and private ground. What a sight.

this year we have a tremendous amount of green grass for cows and elk,,, Just wondering what your experiences with too much feed for elk. Plus the oe grazing association was caught running too many cows, so it now has only 75% of the cows on those pastures.
