Too bad you can't count Bnsafe. I will be in camp in 114 days and hunting in 119 days. By the time you get out there may not be any elk left. :D Anyway we start August 24th here in Oregon. Boy, it is still seems like a long time to wait.

bnsafe,
Normally, CO would have started on August 24th (4th Saturday of August). However this year with 5 Saturdays in August, they (not sure if CO Bowhunters Assoc lobbied CPW for it or not) decided that later was better to get archery hunters closer to the rut. Otherwise, archery would have been over on Sept 22nd and not Sept 29th. I am all for later. Can be hot in August even at 11,000 ft.

Maybe swede and other Oregons will push the elk Eastward in time for them to arrive on August 31st in CO. :D

You are correct. This year and next [2014] the archery season was intended to start earlier but that would have put the 9 day ML season during the last week of archery season.
The CBA lobbied the CPW for a change of dates and moved the start of archery back one week - ML season stayed in the same slot which is typically the 3rd week of archery season.

As of right now its 125 days, 22 hrs, 17 min :)

138 days for us. We are going the last two weeks of the colorado season. I'm glad they moved it back a week as well.

The way my work schedule is I have to do the Colorado opener this year if I want to elk hunt at all. This will be new for me as I always do the last two weeks.

Bnsafe,
Read your last post out loud. I read that a little differently than you intended. :-)
