New ElkNut Forum Sponsor - Huntography

Postby Huntography » 06 10, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Hi guys!

It's almost been a year of me being on the forum and I have to say, I've had some really great conversations here, learned a ton and met some great folks.

That being the case, I thought of no better elk hunting forum to support and introduce my documentary films to, so I became a sponsor last week.

Many thanks to Paul, he's been amazing. I called him the Yoda of Elk Hunting and he said, "Who is Yoda?" I'm getting him Star Wars for Christmas ;)

I've never sponsored another forum or anything like that but felt really comfortable here.

So here goes it.

I've been Filming America's Hunters since 2010. These are regular hunters like you and me. I've just connected with folks via social media and promoted it grassroots style.

Till today, I have produced 3 whitetail documentary films and one elk hunting film. My style of filming is very different from that of other hunting films or even TV shows that you may have seen. I film the entire story. Not just the hunt or the kill.

Here is last years #ELKTOUR film trailer to give you an idea of how I film:

http://www.huntography.com/elktour/

I'd love for you guys to watch the trailer if you haven't seen it already as your feedback would be very welcomed and valuable to me.

If you like what you see, I just made the DVD available last weekend on my site, along with our newest #DEERTOUR whitetail deer hunting film:
http://www.huntography.com/store/

Thanks in advance for your time and support fellas!

Rudy

PS - My films would make a great Father's Day gift. It's what I'm getting my dad ;)

Loved the trailer.

I'm shamelessly pitching this as a Father's Day gift to my Wife . . . but I'm fairly certain she just spend more than the budget on a different gift . . . she's not amused about this.

I'll just keep playing the trailer as loud as I can until she gives in. :-)

its nice for people to see the other side of hunting. its not all about killing and it seems you really try to get that point across with your style of filming.

Happy you like the trailer!

After hearing it over and over while editing, my wife and kids actually like my theme music now. So keep on playing over and pitch away ;)

Rudy,
Well done sir. The trailer kept me engaged from beginning to end. I just started playing with video a little bit this year (as a complete dork amateur ; ), and am really only beginning to understand just how very difficult it is. Look forward to seeing more of your work!

Indeed. Much appreciated.

There is so much that goes into a hunt - before, during and after. Capturing that entire story is very challenging but at the same time, so fulfilling.

Can't wait to film my next group of hunters.

Thank you! So happy you enjoyed it.

Filming is not easy so I commend you for getting into it. If you ever have any questions, just pm me and I'll be happy to help.

The way I film is even more challenging than the typical way many folks do as I use only dslr cameras with manual focus.

If it was as easy as pointing and pressing a button, I probably wouldn't do it. I love the challenge.

Looking forward to sharing more. In the mean time, take a peak at my whitetail deer trailers, they are pretty cool too.

Best,

Rudy, don't let ceetoo fool you. He is a fellow elk hunting video entrepreneur. He alone possesses the famous "flystrait" snorkeling in a creek video, which he captured on an ID wapiti hunt a few years ago. It is filmed quite well, has a certain movie flair with a plucky spirit but simple plot, and shows what a madman can do with a hand held camera as his buddy attempts to cross a snotty slick creek :D

Check the Video out guys, I've watched the entire DVD, it has a lot lot to offer to see visually many of the setups that can work & not work! It shows how excitement on the shooters part can unravel a hunter & how important it is to control ones adrenaline & emotions in crunch time! Rudy shows how people/hunters who are everyday guys & gals go through the motions & emotions of the hunt. It's worth the look see!

Yes, I agree with everyone else. Nice work Rudy! It had a unique vibe I am not used to seeing on most "kill" videos for big bulls I have watched before. Truly about family and friends experiencing the hunt. Great quality to boot.

Thanks Paul! I love your take on our elk film. Coming from you, it means a lot. And you're right, I'm sure folks will be able to relate to many of the real world hunting and camp scenes. From screenings I have done with folks here in Colorado, it's so much fun to see the audience react and comment out loud while watching.

Shoot! Stop! Don't call. Don't Move!

As a viewer and fellow elk hunter, I'm sure some folks have been in similar situations.

I for one, by filming these hunters, learned what I should and should not do in certain situations. When to draw. When to call. What call to use.

Combined with watching your instructional dvd Paul and understanding what the elk are saying, I can't wait to not only film again this year, but to get a chance to kill my first elk.

Thank you Brent! I appreciate you enjoying the vibe of the trailer. My goal is to always Film America's Hunters. That means it's about more than just the kill or the hunt itself as you mentioned. To do that, I must become a part of the group that I am filming. Having chemistry with the folks you film is the key to producing authentic original content.

And believe it or not, all the people I film I typically have never met in person before. Just online. It makes for a truly amazing time.

I hope to film some ElkNuts one day. Now that would be cool ;)

I'd love to @cnelk! Especially since we're both from Northern Colorado.

No worries on the blindfold. Some hunters I film don't even want me to say which GMU or even part of the state we're hunting in and I respect that.
