Anyone thinking of hunting the rio grande national forest the forest service is thinking about closing any overnight camping due to the fire danger. We barely got our cows out of the way on Friday and as far as I know we were the last civilians in the area. Nothing final yet but just be prepared they did it in 2002 last time we had a fire so you may have to stay in town and do day hunts is what this means thought I would give a heads up.

As of Satureday the Weminuche Wilderness is closed. We spent all day Satureday and Sunday above Williams Lake north of Pagosa riding the wilderness and telling everyone we found that they had to leave. A lot of GMU 76 is burning, with more expected to burn up towards Turkey Lake and towards rio grande piramid...its not looking too good right now.

Man! I started to get upset that I might not get to hunt the area I want to, then thought about the people who live in the area. Kinda puts things in perspective and got me feeling selfish for thinking of myself first. Hopes and prayers for all the folks living down that way!!
