Unit 54 west elks

Guys I drew a unit 54 archery tag and was wondering if anybody could tell me the best way into the south castle creek area? I am thinking its going to be the Swampy pass trail head. I plan on spending 7 days in there and another 7 in the mill creek area. Anybody got advice or suggestions for this area since i am a first timer all the way around. Solo backpacking DIY elk.

Advice? Bring your oxygen bottle. LOL - Just kidding. Rough country up there but lots of potential. We used to hunt the west side of the unit and did pretty good. It was tough hunting but worth it.

If we can get left over tags my party will be hunting unit 54. The 10th thru the 21st. Hunted the area in 2009 and didn't have to much trouble getting into elk but they were very high that year over 11500'. Good luck
