I was watching elknuts 2nd video today and learned a ton. but I had a question for paul or somebody that's seen it. it seems he talked a lot about "early". esp with the high pitched calls at midday to elk that are quiet. so, what is early. are we talking labor day weekend, or are we talking 2-3 weeks later when they are starting to get ramped up and early is anything before the full blown rut.

I am curious to see what somebody says about this. My hunt is Sep 1-10 and I'm not really sure what to expect or what I should do as far as calling strategies go.

I actually talked to Paul 2 years ago, and he said the first 10 days of Sept.
